Anywhere you’d like to make your copy more compelling! Try them out in headlines and taglines. Consider using them when describing your services. Lean into these words when highlighting the unique benefits of your offer, course, or product. Make sure to sprinkle them throughout your sales page, too.

🌶️ They won’t fix lackluster copy

If the soup’s already gross, extra paprika won’t hide that. As such, these words won’t make your bland copy ~magically~ better if you haven’t worked on a solid message that speaks to your ideal client. But if your foundation is solid, these words will add that extra zing to make it stand out. 

🌶️ Each word it’s own "flavor profile"

Just like some spices can be used liberally (pepper, in my case!), some will overpower your food to the point you can’t taste anything from the original recipe. These words are the same. Some are meant to be used as often as you can, others will lose their power if you pop them in everywhere. Use them strategically.   

🌶️ Experiment with your own blend

This list is compiled from data-driven research. But if it doesn’t match your voice, don’t force it. Otherwise, you’ll create copy that doesn’t sound authentic to you or might feel sleazy (ew). Start with the words that you most gravitate towards first — and experiment with the others. 

Important: In order for these words to be effective, they must align with your ethics and practices.

For example, do not use the terms ‘risk-free’ or ‘guaranteed’ if you don’t actually have a spelled-out return policy on your sales page. Please don’t call anything ‘popular’ without the social proof. Don’t call it ‘cutting-edge’ if it hasn’t been updated since 1990. Well, unless it’s ironic. 😉
