I’m coming at you as a fellow neurodivergent human with wildly fluctuating energy levels, spontaneous creative bursts, and the need for external accountability to complete pretty much ANYTHING.
If you asked me to use "willpower" in a sentence, I'd say "This chip will power dip into my mouth."
So, yes, Cindy and I offer you some “traditional” tips for your writing routine in this episode.
But, more importantly, we invite you to discover the best writing routine for your temperament, preferences, and beautiful brain.
This means we question if a writing “routine” is even necessary! (You’ll have to listen in to see why.)
Bottom Line: Your cozy writing routine starts by allowing yourself to lean into whatever works best for your brain, your body, and your business.

How I embrace a cozy, brain-friendly approach to writing for my business:
I’m endlessly curious how my brain works. In addition to embracing the layers of being a highly sensitive/neurodivergent human, I’m learning about being a 5/1 Generator (Human Design type). Generators, like me, require embracing the power of being more responsive in our lives vs. initiating. Basically, the opposite of my Type-A conditioning. 😑
I trust my creative process. My creative inspiration comes from day-to-day experience (the more random, the better). I seek out meaningful experiences over a blank google doc. This is how popular emails about karaoke, locking my keys in my car, and Cake Day came to grace your inbox. 🎤
I don’t make it harder. I have wildly fluctuating energy levels. Sometimes I’m the energizer bunny, other times I’ll spend 8 hours on a couch watching Ted Lasso. I use my templates when I can, repurpose content, and send shorter emails in a time crunch. I abandon drafts that aren’t working and lean into ideas that flow. #WhenQuittingMakesYouWin
I outsource in small ways. I have a virtual assistant (VA) and professional proofreader so I don’t have to wrestle with annoying tech or obsess over every misplaced period. This email is only happening because of them. (Thank you, Karin and Stephanie!)
I don’t entertain lofty writing goals. I strategically identify the BARE minimum for my businesses and ruthlessly protect my time and energy to make that happen. 🐡 If I do more? Great. But not required.
I don’t have a rigid content calendar. I have themes and seasons ❄️ to my content depending on what I’m doing. But, I don’t write my emails more than a few weeks before they roll out – if I’m lucky! This keeps me feeling inspired and excited to write.
